Sabrina Smulevich has more than 15 years of experience as an international business lawyer, specializing in corporate and real estate law. Sabrina represents business owners and high-net-worth individuals in their US business and investment matters, providing strategic advice on corporate structures and tax planning.
Sabrina is highly regarded for her ability to analyze the particulars of her clients’ businesses and offer valuable suggestions to help them effectively address their legal matters. Her practice focuses on corporate law, including drafting operating, limited partnership, and shareholder agreements, stock and asset acquisition documents, and organizational governance documents.
She has been involved in numerous private fund formations, representing both fund sponsors and investors, and addressing specific tax considerations related to raising capital from foreign investors. She also has experience advising startups on their formation and initial capital-raising stages.
Sabrina also provides advice on real estate transactions and has represented developers at all stages of development projects, including the preparation of condominium and homeowners’ association documents. In addition, she has extensive experience negotiating and drafting residential and commercial lease contracts.
She is a member of the Florida Bar and has been appointed by the Florida Department of State to act as a Florida Civil Law Notary. In this role, Sabrina can notarize documents overseas for use within the United States, facilitating faster and smoother international legal transactions. She can also authenticate certain events, transactions, and private documents for use in the United States.
In 2007, Sabrina obtained her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a Thomas E. & Dorothy McDougall, Miguel G. & Nelly Farra, and George David Gold Scholar. She was also a member of the Inter American Law Review, the Arbitration Chair of the International Moot Court Board, a Writing Dean’s Fellow, and earned recognition on the Dean’s List for her academic performance.
While attending law school, Sabrina worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Shelby Highsmith, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. She was also a summer associate with Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, and worked as a certified legal intern for The Eleventh Circuit Public Defender. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Smulevich was a litigator at Devine, Goodman, Rasco & Wells, where she represented clients in both federal and state courts.
Prior to launching Smulevich Legal Strategies, Sabrina worked for 14 years at Serber & Associates, P.A., a boutique international law firm based in Miami, where she was the Partner in charge of the corporate department and the Buenos Aires office.
Sabrina received her B.A., cum laude, from Florida International University with a double major in Economics and International Relations. She also studied law in Argentina at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
